COVID-19 | A note from our CEO | How to keep calm and carry on your PR

As the situation around COVID-19 continues to impact everyone’s daily lives around the world, we remain committed to helping our clients through this challenging time.

At Proactive PR, we are in a very fortunate position. Our international focus means we are well used to working remotely. To ensure the health and wellbeing of our staff, every one of our team is now working remotely and our business and the service we provide to you will continue as normal.

Well, almost. I say almost because, of course, some of the work we do for clients is centred around conferences and exhibitions. The spread of cancellations we have seen and will continue to see is unprecedented and will mean the rewriting of many PR plans. This will be a cause of concern for many of you – but it doesn’t need to be.

To help you through this difficult time, we have put together a host of ideas for you to consider as an alternative to events PR. Whether these are brand new initiatives or things you are already doing that you can build on, the Proactive PR team is here and ready to help. If you have some great content that was due to be presented during an event you couldn’t get to or got cancelled, why not turn it into a webinar? Presentations designed to be delivered at conferences can easily be tweaked to be given remotely and you might even find yourself with a greater audience than at the event.

At Proactive PR, we have experience of supporting client-hosted webinars via platforms like BrightTALK and sessions which are hosted by a third-party, for example, a leading trade publication. We will work with you to promote the webinar in advance and utilise the content for additional thought leadership opportunities afterwards.


Product videos

We may not be able to capture an interview with your CEO on your latest innovation, but have you thought about creating its own promotional video instead? With face-to-face meetings now on hold, multimedia content that showcases your products and/or company in their best light will become increasingly important. If you have a specific product you want to promote or you’d like to spread the word about your work, we can create custom graphics and access reams of stock footage to allow you to do this.

Executive Profiling

With journalists and senior executives alike staying indoors, face-to-face interviews at events are not going to happen for some time. At Proactive PR, we have always taken a ‘proactive’ approach to Executive Profiling and securing interviews for our clients. Together with you, we can create a media profile for them which we then pitch to journalists and analysts with a list of topics they can discuss. From our experience, this can result in some excellent opportunities to provide comments and longer opinion pieces.

Despite the disruption we are seeing, editors still have magazines to fill and will still be looking for contributed content.
