Newtec - Proactive PR – Content that counts


The challenge

Satellite service provider Newtec was looking to raise its profile within a heavily-saturated industry and increase the visibility of its brand within the sector by establishing itself as an innovative thought leader.

We were asked to come up with a strategy which would raise Newtec’s profile, focusing on recognition at industry events and awards, as well as prominent features in relevant leading publications.

Actions taken

Working alongside Newtec’s in-house public relations director, we established a list of top-tier media, including magazines, websites and newsletters. Using our knowledge of the satellite sector, we were able to build a strong relationship with the relevant contacts, targeting publications with press releases, features and opinion pieces.

In order to help secure Newtec’s standing within the industry, we also researched and assisted in obtaining speaking slots at prestigious industry events, and highlighted a number of awards to enter, in particular focussing on enhancing their reputation for innovation.

The results

Since 2011, Proactive PR has delivered a 340% increase in coverage for Newtec in its chosen target publications. Alongside this, our work helped Newtec secure speaking slots at industry events, including NAB, SATELLITE, IBC and CommunicAsia, and industry recognition such as the World Teleport Association Teleport Technology of the Year Award in 2013.
